Celebrating the uniquely Australian tradition of Christmas in the summer sun
While much of the world celebrates Christmas with snow, cosy fires, and warm cocoa, Australians do things a bit differently. Our Christmas falls in the middle of summer!
Picture this: it's 25 December, the sun is blazing, the temperature is nudging 30ยฐC, and families across the country are heading outdoors. Instead of heavy roasts, we're firing up the barbie with fresh prawns, snags, and steaks.
This is the essence of an Australian Christmas โ it's relaxed, outdoor-focused, and built around sharing good food with family and friends. The backyard BBQ is the heart of our celebrations.
From sizzling BBQ zones to non-stop entertainment, here's what you'll find at the festival.

The Aussie Christmas BBQ Festival was born from a simple idea: to bring families together and celebrate what makes Australian Christmas so special.
We noticed that while Christmas can sometimes feel commercialised, the moments people treasure most are simple โ gathering around a BBQ, kids playing on the grass, sharing a meal with neighbours.
That's why we created a free, family-friendly, alcohol-free festival that puts these values first.
This is a family-friendly, alcohol-free festival. BYO alcohol is strictly prohibited. Fantastic non-alcoholic beverages available.
Bring your own BBQ supplies. We provide the stations โ you bring the feast! Food stalls also available.
It's summer! Bring sunscreen (SPF 50+), hats, sunglasses, and plenty of water. Shaded areas available.
Fully accessible paths and facilities. Assistance available at the information tent.
